| Original Beginnings |
Back in 1968, if you wanted to eat seafood, you either went to a
dark red velvet restaurant by the beach or settled for greasy fish
and chips at a fast food locale.
Our Founder Genaro Lopez Diaz had a better idea. He decided to create
a seafood destination with special Latin inspired dishes at affordable
prices.
Now, everyone in Los Angeles could experience the fantasy of a fresh
meal on a beautiful Mexican Coast. He named the Restaurant El 7 Mares,
The Seven Seas.
From the beginning Don Genaro sought out the freshest seafood and
original ingredients. Many of our most popular seafoods were not available
from purveyors at the time.
El 7 Mares had to create relationships with fisherman in Mexico, so
that we could import the most authentic and traditional ingredients.
From our extensive travels to training the best chefs to using the
best people, El 7 Mares began to lead the way for a whole industry
of Coastal Mexican restaurants in Southern California. |

| Steady Growth |
Immedietly, El 7 Mares experienced roaring success. We found the
need to open a second location, then a third, then a fourth and so
on. As of 2006, El 7 Mares had 20 locations
including seafood markets, full service and fast food restaurants.
This expansion was led by great people with a vision to bring delicous
seafood to California.
Many of our first employees continue to grow with us, most as general
managers of the different locations. |

| Fresh for the Future |
| Seafood cocktails, pescado sarandeado, shrimp fajitas, grilled lobster...these
are some of the great things that America has discovered in the past
3 decades. El 7 Mares is now and has been in a position to continue
the introduction of many of the best that Latin Seas have to offer.
El 7 Mares is preparing an entry into Arizona and Nevada as well as
Northern California, so that we may bring the wonderful and spicey
flavors of coastal Mexiacn food to more and more people. |
